OPOA Board of Directors

Dom has been with the Department for 19 years as a graduate of the 128th Oakland Police Academy. Dom is in his 2nd year as the OPOA President. Dom is involved with grievances, negotiations, and several OPOA committees. Dom also is a Director for PORAC. Dom is a Sergeant of Police and has worked in various units such as homicide, robbery, patrol, CPU, and was a FTO. Dom lives in the East Bay and has two children.

Barry has been with the Department for ten years as a graduate of the 147th Oakland Police Academy. He has served on the Board of Directors for five years, and this is his second year as the OPOA’s Vice President. Before holding the office of Vice President, Barry severed as OPOA Secretary. Barry has sat on the association’s contract negotiation and arbitration team continuously since March 2006. Barry is chairman of IBT, the association’s trust overseeing many member and retiree benefits. Barry also represents the association on the City’s Deferred Compensation Committee, managing the city’s 457 investment plan. Barry’s goal at OPOA is to increase participation by the membership in our association, because by standing together we will succeed. At OPD Barry is assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division.

Bryan has been a member of the Oakland Police Department since 2000. Bryan has been assigned to the Patrol Division and Beat Health and is currently an acting sergeant in Patrol 1/6B.

Bryan has been a board member for 3 years and currently serves on the by-law, RMT, patrol shift, and website committee.

Some of Bryan’s goals as Secretary for 2010 are to encourage members to participate in the affairs of the OPOA, enhance the communication between the OPOA and its members, and seek new opportunities to enhance the working conditions for the members.

Wendy has been a member of the Oakland Police Department for 21 yrs. She has been assigned to the Patrol Division, SDU Narcotics Task Force, Foot patrol/Bicycle Unit, Recruit Training Officer, and FTO.
Wendy has served on the board of Directors for 7 years, actively participating in several committees; parking lot, Officer of the year, law enforcement day, and an alternate on the Negotiating team.
Wendy looks forward to the challenges in the upcoming year in her new position as Treasurer.
