The City of Oakland issued pay checks to members with the following problems:

- The longevity and uniform allowance checks included deductions for OPOA life  and other association dues.  This was done in error.  Over the next two months, pay checks with those deductions will not be taken out.  Therefore in Oct 2008 those deduction will begin again.

- A number of members received smaller checks around $100 listing the payment  as "Retro PERS."  This check was issued to cover the increase in educational incentive under the new MOU.  Members who did not receive this check, covering the period, 1 July 08 to 11 July 08, and have turned in their educational paperwork on time, should contact accounting to determine the status of their educational incentive pay.

OPOA Website Discussion
