Oakland Police Officers will be passing out toys and dinners on Christmas Eve
WHAT: The Oakland Police Officers Association will be hosting their annual Christmas Basket Program. They have been doing this program for over 30 years. Oakland Police Officers deliver toys and Christmas dinner to needy Oakland families.

LOCATION: 555 5th Street, Oakland, CA
Families are selected by Oakland Police Officers who notice a need for toys and/or food when making contact during the course of their duties. The officers filled out nomination forms and turned them into the Police Officers Association. The baskets are delivered to the homes on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24th starting at about 7:00 AM until late morning. The baskets will consist of a complete Christmas dinner and toys for the children. This year 140 baskets will be delivered by patrol officers that morning.
There will be opportunities for the media to interview OPOA Board Members, Police Officers, Santa Claus and also to follow the officers as they deliver the dinners and toys to the families.
